Access Support

Read A Guide to Understanding Access Support HERE

Access Support is a service paid for by public funding bodies including Arts Council England. The service is designed to help break down barriers for applicants with access needs when looking to apply for grants including: the DYCP or National Lottery Project Grant.

Lara works with artists and creative practitioners who identify as Neurodivergent (dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD, anxiety and mental health disorders, and other invisible and visible disabilities) as an Access Support Worker. To date, Lara has successfully raised £100K+ as an Access Support Worker.

The role varies depending on the applicant’s needs but often includes:

  • Supporting an applicant who uses a screen reader that is not compatible with Grantium

  • Helping process the application questions and forms

  • Note-taking and interpreting ideas to write up answers

  • Submitting the application on Grantium and helping the applicant navigate Grantium

  • Signposting to other resources or asking us on the applicant’s behalf

Lara always works at her client’s pace to submit an application that they feel proud of.
